At a glance
Welcome to the Space Shelters program! Our program is dedicated to developing innovative, sustainable, and efficient shelter solutions for use on Mars and beyond. Our shelters are designed to provide a comfortable and safe environment for up to four people, with features like oxygen production, heating, air conditioning, and an Earth-like interior. But our shelters aren’t just for space – we’re also exploring opportunities to bring our technology to Earth and the hospitality industry.
Our program is a collaborative effort between leading experts in architecture, engineering, design, and business, with the support of the Harvard Aerospace & Defense Alumni Organization (HADAO) at Harvard University. Our team is committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and creating a brighter future for all.
Whether you’re interested in investing in the program, sponsoring a project, or learning more about what we do, we invite you to explore our website and join us on our journey. Together, we can help to create a more sustainable, innovative, and exciting future for everyone.
Areas of focus
Mars Shelter Development
Our primary focus is the development of innovative, sustainable, and efficient shelter solutions for use on Mars. We're leveraging the latest technology, materials, and design techniques to create shelters supporting human life on the Red Planet.
Hospitality Industry
We're also exploring opportunities to bring our shelter technology to the hospitality industry on Earth. By adapting our shelters in remote and rural locations, we can provide guests with a unique and exciting experience while supporting sustainable tourism.
Education and Research
Finally, we're committed to advancing education and research in architecture, engineering, design, and business. We aim to inspire and educate the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers by partnering with leading academic institutions and organizations.

Shelter Design and Engineering
Your donation can help us secure a physical location for the museum and cover costs related to construction, such as building materials, permits, and labor.
Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS)
This project focuses on developing ECLSS technologies that can provide air, water, and food for inhabitants of space shelters. Donors can support this project by funding research into new ECLSS technologies, supporting ECLSS system testing, and providing resources to ECLSS development teams.
Power and Energy Systems
This project focuses on developing power and energy systems to provide sustainable energy for space shelters. Donors can support this project by funding research into new energy technologies, providing resources to energy development teams, and supporting the testing and optimization of new energy systems.
Hospitality Industry Applications
This project focuses on developing space shelters that can be used in the hospitality industry to provide unique and sustainable accommodations for guests. Donors can support this project by funding research into new hospitality industry applications for space shelters, supporting the development of marketing and business plans, and providing resources to hospitality industry development teams.
Education and Outreach
This project is focused on promoting education and outreach in architecture, engineering, design, and business, inspiring and educating the next generation of problem-solvers and innovators. Donors can support this project by funding scholarships, sponsoring student projects, and supporting the development of educational materials and outreach programs.
Our goal
The key objective of the Space Shelters program is to develop innovative, sustainable, and efficient shelter solutions for use on Mars and, ultimately, for our planet Earth. Our program aims to push the boundaries of what’s possible in shelter design and technology, focusing on creating solutions that can support human life in space and have applications on Earth.
Why give with us?
Advancing Human Exploration
Developing sustainable and efficient shelter solutions is essential for enabling human exploration and settlement of other planets, including Mars. By donating to our program, you’ll contribute to a critical area of research that will have far-reaching implications for the future of space exploration and human civilization.
Promoting Sustainability
Sustainability is a critical consideration in our shelter design and technology. By using renewable energy sources, minimizing waste, and leveraging cutting-edge materials and design techniques, our shelters have the potential to be a model for sustainable living, both in space and on Earth. By supporting our program, you’ll contribute to advancing sustainable living solutions for future generations.
Inspiring and Educating the Next Generation
Our program promotes education and research in architecture, engineering, design, and business. By supporting our program, you’ll contribute to developing a new generation of problem-solvers and innovators responsible for creating the future of space exploration, sustainable living, and the hospitality industry. Your donation can help inspire and educate the next generation of students and researchers who will develop new solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.
